Feeling the LOVE from the Community

Canyon Creek felt the love on Valentines as members of the community came together to celebrate healthy relationships and the people they love. The Annual event was held at the new Courtyard Marriott in Cedar City on Thursday February 14th, 2019. Members of the community were able to purchase tickets or tables to show their support of the Canyon Creek's mission to have a community free of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

As patrons entered the event they were greeted with sayings of inspirations and love that promote healthy relationships. After all, that's what this event was all about. Dr. Brant Wadsworth, Executive Director of Canyon Creek Services said “We chose

Valentine's Day because in this work we need to celebrate relationships that are strong,

respectful, equal, loving, and contributing to safer homes and communities, and this event

helps us move closer to that."

Everyone had a chance to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere provided by the Marriott while listening to the music of Mountain Top Sound. It seemed that everyone enjoyed participating in chance to win the Ultimate Sweetheart Package which included a stay in one of Courtyard Marriott's pristine suites, massages from Stone Path Massage, and Dinner at Centro Pizza. All of this in addition to the food that was provided by Marriott's in-house chef made it a night to remember for all in attendance.

It was a success allowing Canyon Creek to raise $6,511.00 for the evening.

"It was such a fun and romantic evening! It's so great to see the support of our community in action!" said ReAnne Reimschussel, Canyon Creek Service's Development Director. "My husband's favorite part was the live music."

We had outstanding response from the local high schools, SUU clubs, and community members who volunteered at the event. We received accolades on the professional service they provided for the event, and it wouldn't have been successful without them.

If you missed the event, you'll have the chance to attend next year as this is an event Canyon Creek will be doing for the foreseeable future.
